In today’s Shinto, rituals have its center, and what is explained to worshippers is the method of worship, the structure of the shrine, and the history of each shrine, etc.
Of course, this is important, but there is little mention of the philosophy that underlies Shintoism.
However, what must be conveyed is the source of this. If we go back as far as we can back the history of Shinto, the oldest document that is said to be the oldest document today in Japan is the Katakamuna documents, which is said to be 150 million years ago.
It is so old that there is even a theory that it is a “forgery”, but if you read the contents, you can understand that it is the source of Shinto that we know today, and that it describes the view of the universe that is also applicable to us today.
However, many of the commentaries published so far have been scientifically explained, partly because the discoverer, Mr. Kougetu Narasaki, was an electronic engineer.
There are many other texts that are said to be ancient literatures written in the Kamiyo (age of Gods)script, They are characters which existed before the Japanese used kanji.
I am not a researcher of Katakamuna documents or the Kamiyo script.
I am a Shinto thinker. While using the Katakamuna documents as a starting point, I would like to unravel ancient literature freely without dwelling on that alone, and convey what I am thinking every day ..
